TRYING TO COME TO TERMS WITH IT AND DISTRACTING MYSELF

So, it's final. On my last control visit at the eyedoctors they stated that my eyesight won't improve much anymore. It was like a slap in the face, like if somebody pulled a carpet away under my feet. I will have to live with this situation now for the rest of my life. And what comes with it, is the fear that something will happen to the other eye as well. Chances increase dramatically after you had it on one side and they already lasered to prevent that from happening. I really need to try to focus on something else, so that the fear won't take over my life, while still being very observant to go to the ER at the very first symptoms. I bought some tablets and vitamins at the pharmacy that might or might not help, hopefully they will at least strengthen the other eye. Hope is dying last! That being said I try to live my life as normal as possible.

Parties are a good way to get your mind off something, and there were a lot of them during the last weeks. The first one in the row was the rather sad occasion of Gill and Carls farewell. Sad as it is, everything seems to happen for a reason, and in their case the reason might have been that Gill could land a much more interesting job with a much nicer boss on the channel island of Guernsey. So they are really excited about the move there and I'm very happy for them. Hopefully everything will work out to the best. I will miss them a lot around here though. The day after we had our annual crayfish party with the hats, the booze, the singing and all the fun that comes with it. Oh I think I forgot to mention the crayfish Good times!!!

Last Saturday it was already time to get out the scary costumes for our Helloween Party at Julies place! It was a fun night and Julie and Dan were great hosts!

We had stayed overnight at their place and had a nice breakfast together on Sunday morning. Back at home we didn't do much at all anymore, just cleaned the house a bit, took care of the huge pile of ironing and then basically hung out on the couch. The following weekend will be dedicated to our homeimprovement projects again, so that we can move our bedroom upstairs soon.

Seems like life is just revolving around food and drinks at the moment, as we also had 3 great nights out at an Italian, a Polish and a Swedish posh restaurant during the last couple of weeks

Sweetie, I am really really sorry to hear that. It's good that you try to distract yourself as much as possible. Try (even though it is very hard) to think positive. I am sending you a big big comforting hug!!!!

Hmm. All what I can say is: That sucks. It really does. And I think you still need some time to realize that this is it how it's going to be. But you'll do just fine. The human body is build to cope. And you have a great partner in your life who will always be there for you. *hugehug*

Finally got my subscriptions back working again..... !   Have to get caught up on a few of your entries.

While coming to terms is a good thing - of sorts- I'd still keep in mind that even Doctors answer to a Higher Power..... I'm not giving up on it yet, & will still keep your recovery in my prayers.   But I am confident that YOU will be just fine.
